Sighs Behind Me

Passing by,
the 3rd floor door
sounded sad today.

Retired Sadness

Standing in the lobby
at the front desk
I heard a little old lady say

"Maybe my daughter will come see me today."

I was in a retirement home.

shimmering eyes.
Then, the steam
fogged up my spectacles
& you were gone.

makes you think of me.

Free Falling

I want to go to
the Grand Canyon
& watch the sunrise
and the sunset.
i hope we really do go to
the grand canyon like you said,
cuz i love you so much
and it'd be more amazing
if you were there with me

The Sea Scares Me

I had a bad dream the other night
where the ocean covers sections of the freeway on the coast.
That makes it so I can not
go to my two old towns to visit family
and friends; and I'm trapped
in my current town.
It was raining so hard that
the sea level rose to those certain sections.
This isn't the first time I've had this dream.
When I woke up I had to actually
think hard whether or not that's really happened before.
I really love the ocean
but the thought of that happening
is horrifying.
